So your CA2 is next Monday, and you have three topics to revise on, and score an A1 for yourself. So how do you do it?

1. Revisit the video lessons provided (e.g. Transport in Animals)

2. Read your notes.

3. Go through your TYS and workbook, as well as your textbook.

4. Ask questions when you don’t understand anything.

5. Read the lates post on joining WIZIQ.com Class.

By now you all should receive an invitation to be an author at the journal from WordPress.com. Please activate the link, and create an account. Do not know how to do this? Watch the instructional video.

On Thursday, upload the videos you all creates, and embed in your article submitted. Include also pictures.

What to include?

Introduction: background on transport in humans, why learn about the heart, the blood, etc.

Objectives/Aims: why do this?

Methods: How you did it (can insert your video)

Discussion/Conclusions: problems, observations, any interesting thing?

References: where you get your information about certain things?

What is TESL?

Think. Explore. Share. Learn. This ensures that there is every level of learning involving different degrees of thinking, from low to middle to high range of thinking. This is the Bloom’s Taxanomy as given below:

Knowledge
Comprehension
Application
Analysis
Synthesis
Evaluation

Think! You will be required to go through Video Lessons and Scaffolding Materials to help you gain knowledge. To help you in comprehension, there are discussions online at the blog, web conferences and classroom discussions.

Explore! In exploring nature and this world, you’ll gain so much experience and insights in Science. You’ll learn how to apply the knowledge you’ve comprehended in this stage. You’ll also analysed your experiences, observations and so on to make meaningful meanings.

Share! In sharing your knowledge, comprehension, applications and analyses, you’ll be able to synthesize ideas and knowledge, to bring to an even higher level. In sharing with others, you learn to make evaluation of what is right and what is not. Sharing here involves submitting an article in the Youth Scientists Journal, and presenting to other Youth Scientists.

Learn! To learn, you’ll have to reach the highest level. That’s evaluation. But in order to show your learning in all the different learning levels, writing a report helps you achieve all.

Think –> Explore –> Share –> Learn

The chain of stages is unidirectional, sometimes it is not so, because at each stage, it has not been thorough, and one cannot expect it to be thorough, as knowledge is abundant and open, and new ideas come in all the time. Sometimes, it’s also not in sequence. What’s important is, in attempting to build foundations of understanding, many levels of learning is achieved, which is required of pupils of Tomorrow.

TESL with EMLAT in Youth Scientists Series Programme is a potent mix of great ideas in teaching and learning.
